Linking Google Analytics (GA4) to BigQuery has never been easier!

Google is phasing out Universal Google Analytics, replacing it with Google Analytics 4.

Moving data from GA4 to BigQuery has a clear advantage (and disadvantage in terms of cost).

You can learn more about BigQuery pricing here.

So, what's so great about analyzing data in BigQuery? Flexibility, Availability, and Capacity.

You'll have an easier time integrating with other data if you already use BigQuery. It is available 24/7 from its cloud platform. The capacity is open to your needs!

Steps:

1. After logging into GA4, go to Admin, then click "BigQuery links."

2. After step 1, you can link to your existing Google Cloud project. You will have to create a new project on Google Cloud to link. You will also have to be an admin to both GA4 and BigQuery.

3. Most of the information should be auto-generated. You can adjust your events and select daily and streaming. I chose to get daily since that's all I need, but you can also select streaming to bring live events.

4. Once the data is linked, it may take 24 hours to complete the migration. Once completed, you will see it from Google Cloud BigQuery.
